2 Members Of Snoop's Entourage Busted For Weed Possession

Two members of Snoop Dogg's entourage were arrested for marijuana possession in Corsicana, Texas today (July 31).

According to The Associated Press, a tour bus carrying Snoop and his entourage was ab initio stopped by police for an expired registration sticker on Thursday afternoon simply they smelt marijuana advent from the bus.

The cops would find two ounces of cannabis sativa on the bus. They would arrest Ethan Calhoun, 27, and Kevin Barkey, 26, on marijuana possession charges.

Both men were taken to the Navarro County Jail and face fines of up to $2,000 and six months in gaol if convicted.� Their bond was set at $1,D each.

Snoop Dogg was not arrested.� The Long Beach bred rapper and his remaining gang were allowed to continue their trip to Dallas where he was scheduled to perform at the Cotton Bowl.

Singer and actress Jennifer Lopez has reportedly checked into hospital in preparation for giving birth.
According to US media reports, the star, who is rumoured to be expecting twins, has now been admitted to the North Shore University Hospital in New York.
The Daily Telegraph reports that a private room in the hospital was kept vacant for the 37-year-old star for the past two weeks.
A patient at the hospital reportedly told Pagesix.com that she overheard hospital staff saying: "JLo is here".

Mika is eager to win a Brit Award

Pop singer Mika has said that he would love to win a Brit Award at tonight's ceremony.
Speaking to The Sun, he said: "Quite frankly I'd love to win one. I'd like to get British Male but the competition is fierce."
The singer, who faces competition from Take That in the categories of Best Album and Best Single, said: "Take That are a British institution now."
Mika also said that he would love to see his friends in Muse picking up an award.

New York Governor Pardons hip-hop pioneer

Hip-hop pioneer Slick Rick has received a full pardon from New York Governor David A. Paterson for attempted murder and weapon charges in the 1990s.

The artist, whose real name is Ricky Walters, served six years in prison for the non-fatal shooting of his cousin and a bystander. Walter�??s cousin had previously threatened him and reportedly had arranged to have him killed.

Walters had an exemplary disciplinary record in prison and since being released, has been living peacefully in his Bronx community for over 10 years. He has volunteered to educate youth against violence and serves as a kind of role model for delinquent teens.

He faces deportation because of his weapons offenses, and was forced to seek pardon in order to remain in the US where he has many family members including two teenage children.

He was born in the UK, but became a resident of the US at aged 11.

Even after receiving the pardon, Walters will still have to seek discretionary relief from deportation from the immigration court.

Ryan Phillippe has reportedly said that he finds it "bizarre" to think about his ex-wife's new relationship.
The 33-year-old star told USA Today that he avoids looking at photographs of his former partner Reese Witherspoon with her new boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal.
Phillippe said: "It's bizarre. There's plenty of times when I say, 'What a strange situation I've found myself in'. But at a certain point you know it's going to happen, so you are prepared."
When asked to comment on his own love life, the actor said: "It's just something I would really rather not address. It has to be a 'no comment'. "

Richard Hammond talks about depression

'Top Gear' star Richard Hammond has revealed that he has suffered from depression since being involved in a high-speed car smash in 2006.
Speaking to The Sunday Times, the television presenter said: "I damaged all the complicated bits of the brain to do with processing and emotional control."
"[I was] prey to every single emotion that swept over me and I couldn't deal with it. I had to relearn things from scratch."
Hammond also said: "I'll still have a week when I'm freaking out about something and I'll realise it's because I'm encountering a new emotional state and I have to evolve a new strategy to cope with it."
"My memory is a lot better but the other day I forgot the PIN numbers to all my cards. All of them. Completely gone."
The star suffered a "significant" brain injury in September 2006 when the jet-powered dragster he was driving went off a track and crashed at a speed of 288mph.

Martin Sheen Honoured For Humanitarian Effort

Activist-actor Martin Sheen will be honoured by the University of Notre Dame for his humanitarian work, the college announced yesterday.
The NUI Galway graduate starred in 'The West Wing' playing a U.S. president who was a Notre Dame graduate and he is set to receive the 'Laetare Medal' at a ceremony in the college on 18 May. President John F. Kennedy is amongst previous recipients of the award.
Talking about the famous actor, the university's president, the Rev. John I. Jenkins Sheen said: "He has used that celebrity to draw the attention of his fellow citizens to issues that cry out for redress, such as the plight of immigrant workers and homeless people, the waging of unjust war, the killing of the unborn and capital punishment".
The 67-year-old has described himself as a Catholic peace activist. He has been arrested for taking part in non-violent demonstrations against various U.S. military policies.
He has donated money and time to such causes as the alleviation of poverty and homelessness, human rights for migrant workers and environmental protection.
